Homemade Sensory Snow
Share
Before I became a mom five years ago I honestly thought I could continue the same level of order, structure and cleanliness in my home as I did when I was single. Enter marriage and two rambunctious boys under two and that's when my disillusionment and reality kicked me in the face. I have been blessed with two boys that love anything and everything messy, sensory driven, and tactile. At first it was such a struggle, but now I embrace that about them. Now, I just reluctantly embrace the mess they make when they are at peak curiosity, creativity, and thinking outside of the box.
This sensory snow is the perfectly MESSY and fun activity for the whole family. While my boys are busy making a mess at the dining room table of our small apartment, I make sure to save myself a bowl to play with and get messy myself. Here is the recipe...
Ingredients
- Your favorite hair conditioner
- Baking Soda
Directions
This part is entirely up to you and depends on how much you want to make. You can start out with the ratios below and add more or less condtioner/baking soda until you get the consistency you like.
- Mix 2 1/2 cups of conditioner with 1/2 cup of baking soda
- Mix well until the consistency resembles packed snow
- You may need to add more baking soda if the mixture feels too wet. If it seems dry just add more conditioner.
