Nail Removal Tutorial: Non-UV Glue Option

Tip: Removing your nails should be a painless process. If you pull, rip or use abrupt movements you are at risk of damaging your natural nails which can have lasting affects.  Also, do not use a drill or efile to remove reside or nail glue unless you are licensed/trained to do so. You can easily damage your natural nail if you do this improperly. So please handle your nail removal process with attention, care, & patience.

Tip: It is best to do this when your nails are showing signs of wear and there is some "wiggle" or gap between your natural nail and the press on.

  1. Fill a small bowl with warm soapy water & apply a few teaspoons of oil (e.g., olive oil, jojoba oil, or any other neutral oil).
  2. Soak your nails for 15 minutes.
  3. Take a wooden cuticle stick to gently press the nail off between the press on and your natural nail.
  4. If the nails are not budging soak them for 5 minutes at a time before checking again.
  5. You can apply a few drops of oil or a press off serum in between the nail to help it penetrate the nail glue or adhesive tabs.
  6. Acetone option (you won't be able to reuse the press on nails with this choice): Alternatively, you can apply a few drops of acetone between the press on and your natural nail to break down the glue.
  7. After you are done use a light buffer of 100-120 grit to gently buff off any nail glue but be careful not to remove any of your natural nail.
  8. Depending on the wear and tear done to your press ons you can use a buffing block, etching stick, or nail drill (if trained to do so) to lightly buff the glue off the press on nail to reuse at a later time.
